It’s only been a week since Florence Pugh’s Netflix period drama East of Eden premiered to rave reviews and took the world by storm, and naturally, fans still aren’t over it. Created by Zoe Kazan, the limited series adapts Nobel Prize winner John Steinbeck’s 1952 novel of the same name and takes place fromthe late 19th century to World War I. In addition to Pugh, it stars MCU’S X-Men reboot star Christopher Abbott and Grammy and Emmy Award winner Mike Faist.

With a Certified Fresh 88% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Pugh earns much praise for a masterful performance, whichisn’t surprising given the actress’ impressive portfolio. Speaking of which, she was just as sensational, if not more so, in an earlier psychological drama that helped launch her international breakthrough. The critically acclaimed gem to this day is regarded as one of the greatest modern horror movies of all time that’s genuinely more unsettling than viewers expected.

Written and directed by Ari Aster, Midsommar sees Pugh portray traumatized and grieving American student Dani, who is drawn into a violent cult in rural Sweden alongside her boyfriend. The folk horror film, released in 2019, has now found a free streaming home on Pluto TV, where it was added on October 1, 2026. Midsommar also stars Jack Reynor, William Jackson Harper, Vilhelm Blomgren, Ellora Torchia, Archie Madekwe, and Will Poulter.

Your instincts, your strengths, and your particular way of thinking under pressure point to one villain you actually have a fighting chance against. Everyone else — good luck.

Jason is relentless, but he is also predictable — and that is the gap you would exploit.

Michael watches before he moves. He is patient, methodical, and almost impossible to detect — until it’s too late for anyone who isn’t paying close enough attention.

Freddy wins by getting inside your head — using your own fears, your own memories, your own subconscious as weapons against you. That strategy requires a target who can be destabilised.

Pennywise is ancient, shapeshifting, and feeds on terror — but it has one critical vulnerability: it cannot function against someone who genuinely stops being afraid of it.

Chucky’s greatest advantage is that nobody takes him seriously until it’s already too late. He exploits the gap between how something looks and what it actually is.
