Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.
For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things Bosch, Mission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider’s news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.
He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.
His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan’s work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.

James Bond has been missing in action for years, ever since Daniel Craig bowed out in ***No Time to Die, ***and we’re still waiting to find out who’ll replace him. Denis Villeneuve is preparing to direct the next movie, and thankfully for us, it looks like Bond is about to return, with the newest project featuring 007 finally underway.
Production has officially begun on Young Bond: SilverFin, which is a new full-cast audio adaptation of Charlie Higson’s 2005 novel, with Isaac Rouse stepping into the role of a teenage James Bond. Big Finish has released behind-the-scenes footage from the recording sessions, showing Rouse and Charlotte McBurney, who plays Wilder Lawless, beginning work on the production ahead of its October 29 release.
Rouse isn’t the only actor bringing this younger version of Bond to life. Tim McInnerny (Game of Thrones) plays Bond’s Uncle Max, while Miranda Raison (Spooks) voices Aunt Charmian. William Hope (Aliens) takes on Lord Randolph Hellebore, with Paterson Joseph (Wonka) playing Nazi scientist Dr. Perseus Friend. Lucy Fleming, the niece of Bond creator Ian Fleming, plays Madame Ouspenskaya, while Tim Bentinck, who previously voiced Bond in video games during the 1990s, returns to the franchise as Sergeant White. **Penelope Rawlins **also joins the cast as Alfie Kelly.
Six actors. One role. Your answers point to the Bond who shares your presence, your method, and your particular way of carrying the weight of being the most dangerous person in the room.
You are the original — and you carry that fact without needing to announce it. There is an authority in the way you occupy a room that others spend careers trying to replicate.
You understand something that more serious people miss: that wit is its own form of intelligence, and that making people laugh is not a retreat from danger but a way of mastering it.
You took the role seriously when everyone wanted you to coast — and that refusal to take the easy version of anything is the most defining thing about you.
You are the complete package — and you know it, which is part of what makes you so effective and occasionally so infuriating to the people around you.
You stepped into something enormous with less preparation than anyone around you thought was sufficient — and you delivered something genuine anyway, which is the more impressive achievement.
You stripped everything back and found what was underneath — and what was underneath was harder, more honest, and more human than anyone expected.
Higson published SilverFin in 2005 as the first outing in his Young Bond series. Set in the 1930s, it follows Bond at school at the prestigious Eton College, before sending him north to Scotland, where he gets caught up in the mystery surrounding the sinister Lord Hellebore and the experiments taking place at his remote estate. The novel ultimately launched a successful series following Bond’s adventures long before MI6, Aston Martins, martinis and a cavalcade of beautiful women entered the equation. More than two decades after SilverFin first introduced that younger incarnation of 007, the new adaptation is going all-in on bringing his first adventure to life — and surrounding him with people who have some rather unusual connections to Bond history while doing it.
Meanwhile, Villeneuve’s upcoming Bond movie remains in development, with no official announcement regarding Craig’s successor. At least fans won’t have to wait quite as long for the next adventure featuring the character.
Young Bond: SilverFin will be released on October 29, 2026. Stay tuned at Collider for more James Bond updates. Explore James Bond books and more with a free trial of Audible.
