In over three years at Collider, senior author Jake has now penned over 3000 articles covering a wide range of TV and film for the resources, lists, utilities, news, and interview teams. Alongside interviewing stars such as Selin Hizli, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Harlan Coben, and Chelsea Peretti, Jake was lucky enough to visit the set of Aardman and Netflix’s Wallace and Gromit: A Vengeance Most Fowl in 2024, getting the chance to chat with four-time Academy Award winner Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham. Jake has also worked for other publications, including Agents of Fandom. You can also hear Jake every week as the resident film and TV journalist on Track Radio.

**Ryan Murphy **is one of the most influential names working in 21st-century television. From ***American Horror Story ***to 9-1-1, his wide range of shows has proven to be huge hits on the biggest networks and streaming platforms for over two decades. But nothing he has made before or since can quite compare to the global phenomenon that was Glee. Turning a generation of teenagers into Gleeks, this toe-tapping comedy about the melodramatic lives of show choir singing high schoolers became an unbelievably successful franchise that spanned both screen and stage.

Jane Lynch’s Sue Sylvester, Kevin McHale’s Arti Abrams, Lea Michele’s Rachel Berry, **Matthew Morrison’**s Will Schuester, and many more quickly became some of the most recognizable characters in TV after the show’s hugely popular Pilot in May 2009. This popularity peaked with the Season 2 episode “The Sue Sylvester Shuffle,” which was awarded the coveted post-Super Bowl slot and peaked at 26.8 million viewers, becoming the highest-rated scripted television broadcast for over three years in the process.

Recently, Murphy gave Gleeks the news that they had long wished for when he confirmed that he had “just finished” a reboot script. “So, we have a script. Brad [Falchuk], Ian [Brennan] and I, who wrote all the first two seasons, have written something.” Would any of the original cast return? “I’ve been in touch with around 10 of the original cast members,” Murphy continued. “It’s very sweet, and they all had a lot of questions, but they all were very enthusiastic about the idea.” A *Glee *reboot (or Gleeboot) is still far from a reality, but the wheels are certainly in motion on this midnight train going anywhere.

Four of the largest communities on the planet, and four completely different reasons to belong to one. Here is yours, what it would give you, and the argument you would be having within a week.

You belong to the fandom that is really about comfort. Hogwarts works on people because it is a place rather than a plot, and the pull is not the wizard war so much as the corridors, the food, the weather and the sense that somebody is expecting

You belong to the deepest fandom on this list, the one where somebody has always read further than you and is quietly delighted to say so. Middle-earth rewards patience more than any other world in popular culture.

You belong to the loudest and largest tent of the four, the one where three generations are all watching the same thing and none of them agree about any of it. That disagreement is not a flaw in this fandom, it is the main activity.

You belong to the thinking fandom, the one that turns up for the argument rather than the explosion. Trek has always been a series of ethical problems in space, and the people who love it love being asked what they would have done.
