CBS has dozens of popular shows either returning for new seasons this year or debuting for the first time, but there’s one hovering a level above the rest when it comes to anticipation. One of the new CBS shows debuting in around a week that has everyone talking is Cupertino, which is already being positioned as CBS’ answer to The Lincoln Lawyer. The show stars Mike Colter, who is best known for his role as Luke Cage in Marvel’s Defenders series of shows on Netflix. While there are plenty of people excited to check out Cupertino, the big CBS return everyone is waiting for is Tracker. The show stars Justin Hartley in the leading role of Colter Shaw with a splash of Jensen Ackles as his brother, Russell Shaw, and it’s coming back sooner than you realize.

Around a month ago, CBS announced a slate of return dates for its most popular shows, which included the news that Tracker would return for Season 4 this Sunday, October 4. It’s been less than three years since Tracker first hit the air, which makes it that much more impressive that CBS has managed to churn out three full seasons of the show with a fourth on the way in just a few days. Before Tracker comes back, Collider is thrilled to partner with CBS to provide fans with a little sneak peek of the debut episode, which will follow Colter’s search for a teenage boy’s missing father. However, Colter’s hunt leads him to the heart of a dangerous criminal organization at the port of Los Angeles. The new episode was written by **Alex Katsnelson **and **Annotate Chappell **and directed by Joel Nivola.

Four action series. One of them is built around exactly the way you handle pressure, people, and a room that has just gone very quiet. Here is where you would survive the trilogy, and probably headline it.

You are precision with a grudge. You don’t posture, you don’t escalate, and you don’t warn anybody twice. That is exactly why the people who know you are so careful never to be the reason you start.

You understand the thing the whole franchise is secretly about: the cars are spectacular, but the crew is the point. You collect people, you keep them, and you’d drive through a building for any one of them.

You over-prepare and then take the dangerous part yourself anyway. It looks like control, but it’s really responsibility. You have never worked out how to ask somebody else to carry the risk.

You are not the most trained person in the building, the best equipped, or the one anybody would have picked. You are simply the one still standing at the end, which turns out to be the only qualification that matters.

There’s no confirmation yet on when Jensen Ackles will show up as Russell Shaw in Tracker Season 4. There have been more than 50 episodes of Tracker so far, but Ackles’ Russell Shaw has only featured in a few of those. He’s used sparsely, but this is an effective tactic, as it keeps people hooked and watching, waiting to see when he shows up. Ackles has already teased images of himself behind the scenes of Tracker Season 4, so we know for sure that his return is a matter of when, not if.

Check out the first three seasons of Tracker on Paramount Plus and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of the show.
