In the last 10–15 years, Joel Kinnaman has quietly become one of the biggest action stars in the world with several massive hits under his belt. Kinnaman made a name for himself back in 2014 by starring in the controversial RoboCop reboot movie, and while the film was met with mostly poor reception from critics and audiences, most agreed that it wasn’t due to his performance. Earlier this year, Kinnaman took his talents to Netflix to star in the grounded crime thriller series, Detective Hole, which is based on the novel of the same name by Jo Nesbø. The show didn’t quite soar as high as other Netflix crime thrillers this year, like I Will Find You, and the streamer has yet to officially announce if Detective Hole is going to be renewed for Season 2 or canceled after only one season.

Even if Netflix decides not to move forward with another season of Detective Hole, Joel Kinnaman has another show out that has been keeping him busy most of the year. We’re talking, of course, about High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam, the gripping political thriller that premiered on TNT on September 13. The show is perfect for fans of other classic political thrillers like Zero Dark Thirty, as both center around a hunt for one of the most dangerous people in history. Before the final episode of High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam airs this Sunday, Collider is thrilled to partner with TNT to exclusively preview a sneak peek at the last episode. The final episode will follow John, now a pariah in Washington after trying to save Saddam Hussein, with one last meeting in the White House to change the course of history.

Four action series. One of them is built around exactly the way you handle pressure, people, and a room that has just gone very quiet. Here is where you would survive the trilogy, and probably headline it.

You are precision with a grudge. You don’t posture, you don’t escalate, and you don’t warn anybody twice. That is exactly why the people who know you are so careful never to be the reason you start.

You understand the thing the whole franchise is secretly about: the cars are spectacular, but the crew is the point. You collect people, you keep them, and you’d drive through a building for any one of them.

You over-prepare and then take the dangerous part yourself anyway. It looks like control, but it’s really responsibility. You have never worked out how to ask somebody else to carry the risk.

You are not the most trained person in the building, the best equipped, or the one anybody would have picked. You are simply the one still standing at the end, which turns out to be the only qualification that matters.

Additional cast members for High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam include Lena Góra (The Eastern Gate), **Rebecca Night **(Fanny Hill), Tom Berenger (Platoon, Hatfields & McCoys), Paul Ryan (Brexit), **Christopher McDonald **(Hacks), **Dar Salim **(The Covenant), Matt Barr (Blood & Treasure), **Ewan Miller **(The Gray House), and Talia Balsam (Mad Men). TNT’s official description of the series reads as follows:

“Set against the backdrop of one of the most consequential military operations in recent history, the pulse-pounding series explores the high-stakes exchanges between Nixon and Hussein. As Nixon seeks answers from the former Iraqi leader in his search for weapons of mass destruction, he is forced to confront the far-reaching consequences of the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the ramifications that would reverberate around the world for decades to come.”

Check out the final episode of High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam this Sunday on TNT and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Joel Kinnaman’s future projects.
