When it comes to popular gaming franchises to emerge in the last 5–10 years, few have been as successful as Cyberpunk 2077, though it hasn’t been without its controversy. After years of development, it’s safe to say the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most anticipated in history, but it didn’t exactly go according to plan. The game launched in such a poor state that developer CD Projekt Red was forced to issue full refunds to those who were unable to enjoy it, but various quality-of-life and DLC updates over the years have fully redeemed it as one of the best next-gen games. Still, even in the years following its troubled launch, Netflix released a new anime inspired by the game, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which dropped its first season back in 2022.

Earlier this year, Netflix finally announced that the highly anticipated second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is set to be released on October 20. Netflix even released the first pulse-pounding teaser trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 a few weeks ago, but now the streamer has delivered yet another gift to fans of the show who are waiting on pins and needles for new updates. Collider is thrilled to partner with Netflix just a few weeks before the premiere of* Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2* to exclusively preview a new sneak peek at the show. Like* Cyberpunk: Edgerunners* Season 1, Season 2 will feature 10 episodes, all of which are set to premiere as a binge on October 20. Season 2 will also feature a brand-new standalone story, meaning the beloved Season 1 characters like D are not expected to return in the new batch of episodes.

Your answers point to the iconic sci-fi hero who shares your instincts, your values, and your particular way of facing the impossible.

You carry a weight most people would crumble under — the knowledge of what you’re capable of, and the burden of what you might have to become.

You lead with instinct, warmth, and an absolute refusal to accept a no-win scenario — because you’ve always believed there’s a third option nobody else has thought of yet.

You are the kind of person who holds the line when everyone else is losing faith — not because you’re fearless, but because giving up simply isn’t something you’re capable of.

You are not reckless, not grandiose, and not particularly interested in being anyone’s hero — you just refuse to stop when it matters.

You have been through fire that would break most people — and what came out the other side is something the world underestimates at its peril.

Netflix has released the official synopsis for* Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2* ahead of its October 20 premiere. It reads as follows: “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a new standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077 — a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?” CD Projekt Red is also hard at work on a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, and while more employees are focused on The Witcher 4, the game is still deep in the development weeds, with official updates expected soon.

Check out the first season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners on Netflix and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Season 2.
