A cinematic obsessive with the filmic palate of a starving raccoon, Rob London will watch pretty much anything once. With a mind like a steel trap, he’s an endless fount of movie and TV trivia, borne from a misspent youth of watching monster movies on TV, perusing the sun-faded goods at the local video rental shop, and staining his fingers with ink from the Video Movie Guide. Areas of interest include science fiction, film noir, horror flicks, ’70s disaster pictures, Bond movies, ’90s action, giant robots, dinosaurs, super heroes, and the exuberantly schlocky output of Cannon Films. He also enjoys both Star Trek and Star Wars when they’re good, and maybe even more when they’re bad. As a Canadian, he also has a vested interest in Canadian movies and TV shows, especially the cheesier ones dubbed “Canuxploitation.”
An expert on Marvel Comics, he has also written for the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, and is a member of the Marvel Research Team. He can frequently be found pontificating on comic-book continuity or bemoaning the misfortunes of the Toronto Maple Leafs on his Twitter account.

Horror stalks the Hollywood Hills in The Teenage Vampire, a new thriller coming from Lionsgate just in time for Halloween. In the film, an ancient evil lures in its prey with the most precious commodity in Los Angeles: real estate. Collider is proud to exclusively present the new trailer for The Teenage Vampire, which will be released on video on demand and digital on October 27. Sandra (Jazlyn Nicolette Sward, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty) is a regular California teenager who’s just graduated from high school and is looking to have the summer of her life. She lucks into the find of her life: a Hollywood Hills bungalow that’s being rented out for an outrageously low price.
Despite her mother’s misgivings, it seems like a great place; even Viktor (James Chalke, Dead Trigger), the landlord, is friendly, and he’s never there during the day. Naturally, she invites all her friends there for the biggest bash of the summer. Unfortunately, red Solo cups won’t be the only things getting drained. Viktor and his lover Isabelle (Spice Williams-Crosby, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier) are vampires, and they’re about to treat Sandra’s friends like an all-night buffet. And they’ve got something even worse in store for Sandra: after all, she feels like she’s known Viktor all her life, and he’s got decades-old photographs of a woman who looks just like her.
The Teenage Vampire is directed by Frank Mora (Angels’ Fire); he also co-wrote the script with Asif Akbar (Nevada Heist). It also stars Kelly Lynn Reiter (Deadlock), Courtney Akbar (Clown Fear), and Michael Cervantes (Night Carnage). It’s a production of Grindstone Entertainment, with Lionsgate handling distribution.
Four franchises, four completely different ways of getting underneath your skin. This is the one built out of your particular fear, why it works so well on you, and what it would leave behind.
Your nightmare does not wait outside the door. It waits for you to close your eyes, which you are going to have to do eventually, because nobody has ever won that particular argument.
Your nightmare is not really the doll. It is the face of the person you tell, and the way they decide, very kindly, that you have imagined all of it.
Your nightmare has your number, knows your name, and has almost certainly been inside your house before. The worst part is that you already know them.
Your nightmare is not really about you. It is about the people asleep down the hall, and the feeling that whatever is here is not interested in leaving.
Also coming from Lionsgate this October is Beware Boiúna, a creature feature from Mike P. Nelson, who directed last year’s remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night. Kiana Madeira (Fear Street), Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), and Logan Marshall-Green (Upgrade) star as aid workers who find themselves hunted by an enormous serpent in the Amazon rainforest. It will be released in theaters on October 2.
The Teenage Vampire will be released on digital and video on demand on October 27. Watch the new trailer above and stay tuned to Collider for future updates.
