LEGO is back, bringing another iconic franchise to life in brick form. While the toy brand was known for creating its own universe through*** Ninjago ***and LEGO City, it has also collaborated with well-known brands, bringing beloved characters to life, and it’s doing so again with this upcoming set.
One way LEGO has brought notable brands to this toy line is through the LEGO Ideas program, which lets fans submit ideas that could become products if they gain support. These include E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Twilight, and The Office, to name a few. Now, LEGO has announced another franchise making its debut through this program.
LEGO has announced the winner of its “Yu-Gi-Oh! It’s Time to Duel” challenge, which began earlier this year. Master Builders were tasked with creating a Yu-Gi-Oh! monster using LEGO bricks and meeting specific requirements. The selected build that will potentially turn into an official LEGO product is titled “The Heart of the Cards - Exodia” by Step_on_a_Brick, which features the monster, Exodia the Forbidden One, as well as two out of the five cards that would summon the monster, and a large figure of the franchise’s main protagonist, Yugi Muto.
While a release date and price have not yet been unveiled, the new set is not guaranteed to hit the market despite winning the competition. This upcoming set won’t be the only TCG-themed item that LEGO would release. LEGO has launched its*** Pokémon***-themed LEGO Ideas competition, “Pokémon Trading Card Game Challenge: Build Your Card!”. Although *Pokémon *is part of the official LEGO lineup, this challenge lets fans bring another Pokémon to life in brick form from a list LEGO provided, designed with the trading card game in mind. As of writing, the winner has yet to be announced, but the Top 5 builds have been unveiled: Joltik, Mew, Arceus, Gyarados, and Rowlet. According to the challenge timeline, voting ended on June 11, and the winner will be revealed in February 2027.
Your answers point to the iconic universe your values, your instincts, and your particular way of seeing the world were built for. This is where you would find your people — and your purpose.
You believe in the cause — in the idea that freedom is worth fighting for even when the odds are impossible and the empire is vast.
You understand, in the deepest part of yourself, that the journey matters as much as the destination — and that the world’s beauty is worth protecting even at great cost.
You believe that love, loyalty, and doing what’s right are not naive sentiments — they are the most powerful forces in any world, magical or otherwise.
You see the world clearly — its power structures, its hypocrisies, its brutal arithmetic — and you are not paralysed by that clarity. You use it.
You believe the future is worth building — that curiosity, cooperation, and the expansion of understanding are not just ideals but the most practical path forward for any civilisation.
Yu-Gi-Oh! is a Japanese media franchise that began in 1996 and was created by Kazuki Takahashi. It follows a young boy named Yugi Muto, who loves puzzle games and can solve an ancient Egyptian artifact called the Millennium Puzzle, which makes his body a host for a mysterious spirit. Since the manga’s release, it has spawned numerous spin-offs, films, video games, and a popular trading card game that’s still sold today. The franchise has released 10 anime series, featuring different lead characters, with the most recent being Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!, which aired from 2022 to 2025.
