Best known for his roles in Ex Machina and the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Domhnall Gleeson has been racking up iconic performances in the last few years. Gleeson can be seen starring in the leading role of Ned Sampson in the first two seasons of The Paper on Peacock. The show is a spin-off of the beloved sitcom, The Office, and while it’s set in the same world, it features an almost entirely new cast of characters, with a few exceptions. All episodes of* The Paper* Season 2 were dropped last week as a binge, and the streamer has yet to officially decide the fate of the show beyond its second season. Even if The Paper isn’t given a chance to come back, though, Gleeson’s future as a brilliant actor is beyond secure.

Later this month, Gleeson will return to the big screen with the premiere of The Incomer, the new wacky fantasy movie opening on September 25. After the official trailer for *The Incomer *was released a few weeks ago, Collider is taking things a step further and partnering with Sumerian Pictures to exclusively preview a new sneak peek at the film, which also stars Gayle Rankin, Grant O’Rourke, Emun Elliot, Michelle Gomez, and John Hannah. The official synopsis for *The Incomer *reads as follows: “Sundance Award-winning comedy, The Incomer is a modern folk fairy tale set on a remote Scottish island, where two siblings survive by hunting seabirds, retelling the stories of their ancestors, and defending the isle from dreaded Incomers. Their world is upended with the arrival of an awkward council worker who has come to uproot them from their homeland on behalf of the government.”

Your answers point to the iconic universe your values, your instincts, and your particular way of seeing the world were built for. This is where you would find your people — and your purpose.

You believe in the cause — in the idea that freedom is worth fighting for even when the odds are impossible and the empire is vast.

You understand, in the deepest part of yourself, that the journey matters as much as the destination — and that the world’s beauty is worth protecting even at great cost.

You believe that love, loyalty, and doing what’s right are not naive sentiments — they are the most powerful forces in any world, magical or otherwise.

You see the world clearly — its power structures, its hypocrisies, its brutal arithmetic — and you are not paralysed by that clarity. You use it.

You believe the future is worth building — that curiosity, cooperation, and the expansion of understanding are not just ideals but the most practical path forward for any civilisation.

Last year, Domhnall Gleeson teamed up with legendary action director Guy Ritchie for Fountain of Youth, which is billed as a mash-up of Indiana Jones and Uncharted. The film began streaming on Apple TV way back in May 2025, but it’s still hanging around as one of the most popular movies on the platform, where it’s been in the top 10 for over 250 days now. John Krasinski and Natalie Portman also star in the film. It’s become a must-watch hit before Gleeson’s *The Incomer *hits theaters in less than two weeks.

Check out the new sneak peek at The Incomer above and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Domhnall Gleeson’s future projects.
