After generations of comic book fans grew up following the adventures of the X-Men, many of them have become deeply invested in the character Jubilee. Portrayed as the audience’s surrogate character in the 1990s animated X-Men show, she especially became beloved by many fans who watched that series during their childhoods. In 2016, she was brought to life on the big screen when Lana Condor joined the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse as the character.
More than a decade after she last brought the character to life, Condor has just spoken out about the possibility of portraying Jubilee again. During an exclusive interview with The Direct, she revealed that she’d spoken to the team behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming X-Men movie. While she was clear that there hadn’t been “real” talks about her joining the cast, she expressed her interest in returning to the role to the filmmakers.
“I would love nothing more than to come back as Jubilation Lee. That’s all I’ve been hearing, but no real conversations… I’ve talked to the filmmakers and been like, ‘Hey, listen, I’m 10 years older now. I know more. Bring me back.’ So we’ll see.”

Based on Condor’s remarks to The Direct, it is clear that there haven’t been any concrete talks about her potentially joining the MCU’s version of the X-Men as Jubilee. Still, between Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Marvels, Deadpool & Wolverine, and the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movies, several actors from the Fox X-Men movies have reprised their roles. With that in mind, the fact that Condor has spoken to the team behind the upcoming movie seems like a really smart move for her and fans of the character.
During X-Men: Apocalypse, viewers never got to see Jubilee showing off her powers in battle, which was a shame. Additionally, X-Men: Apocalypse reviews were underwhelming upon its release. Given the colorful and explosive nature of her mutant abilities, it would be fantastic to see Jubilee battle a classic comic book villain in an excellent superhero movie. When more announcements come about the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s X-Men movie, fans will definitely keep an eye out for any potential Jubilee news.
