As Hyperion tears across Greece searching for the legendary Epirus Bow, Theseus must embrace his destiny alongside an unlikely band of allies while the Olympian gods watch from above, forbidden from directly interfering in mankind’s affairs. The film is shot in similar fashion to 300, Zack Snyder’s iconic (or all-style-no-substance) retelling of the Spartans’ final stand, and it does end up providing some of the most visually distinctive action sequences of the 2010s.
The film stars Cavill as Theseus, Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler) as King Hyperion, **Freida Pinto **(Slumdog Millionaire) as Phaedra, Stephen Dorff (True Detective) as Stavros, Luke Evans (Dracula Untold) as Zeus, John Hurt (Doctor Who) as the Old Man, Isabel Lucas (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) as Athena and Kellan Lutz (Twilight) as Poseidon.

Even so, audiences have continued to embrace the film as an underrated spectacle, particularly as Cavill’s star has risen over the past decade.
