It’s probably fair to say that a television series doesn’t need to become an overnight sensation in order to become a genuine classic. In fact, some of the biggest and best shows of the past twenty years certainly took their time to get noticed, like Breaking Bad. But those shows just quietly do the work in the background and get on with creating quality storytelling while the rest of us catch up like idiots, knowing we should have been on the ball from the start.
***From ***debuted on MGM+ to little fanfare, the supernatural horror series steadily developed and grew into one of television’s most beloved cult horror shows with its own dedicated fan base, thanks in large part to the terrifying monsters, cliffhangers and relentless pace and tension behind it. As you’d expect, it’s now finding a much bigger audience on streaming.
The series unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest, including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down.
The series stars Harold Perrineau (The Rookie) as Boyd Stevens, Catalina Sandino Moreno (Ballerina) as Tabitha Matthews, Eion Bailey (The Wish Swap) as Jim Matthews, David Alpay (The Ark) as Jade Herrera, **Elizabeth Saunders (Clarice) as Donna Raines, Scott McCord (The Sinner) as Victor and Ricky He (The Good Doctor) as Kenny Liu. The show is created by John Griffin and executive produced by several veterans of **Lost.

*From *initially debuted from where you’d probably describe as under the radar, however each successive season has seen the audience expand considerably. Critics have praised the atmosphere and the tone of the series, along with the unsettling mythology built within it, and it’s fair to say they’ve absolutely adored Perrineau’s performance as Boyd Stevens.
Collider’s Jasneet Singh awarded the fourth season a 7/10 score, saying that “*From *Season 4 may not be as exciting or tumultuous as past seasons, but it holds value in the wider scheme of the show. Fans may not be fully satisfied with the pace, but in the long run, it’s the smartest move this show can make.”
