Since airing way back in 2011, ***Game of Thrones ***has become a cultural phenomenon. Running across eight seasons and consisting of 73 episodes, the high fantasy HBO series came to an end in May 2019 with an anti-climactic finale, but that has not stopped fans from finding ways to immerse themselves in the dark world of Westeros.
Now considered to be one of the greatest television shows of all time, *Game of Thrones *has gone onto inspire multiple spin-off shows such as House of the Dragon and *A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, *and with the final book in the *A Song of Ice and Fire *saga expected to drop in the next century or so, it is still an exciting time to be a *Game of Thrones *fan.
However, if you want more than television shows and long waits, then look no further than Game of Thrones: Masters of Intrigue.
Schemes are whispered. Loyalties shift. Power is up for grabs.
*Game of Thrones: Masters of Intrigue *is a trick-taking card game designed by Brad Zander. Featuring stunning artwork inspired by the show, the card game by Resurrection Games aims to bring the television show to life by pulling stories from both *Game of Thrones *and *House of Dragons *to create the ultimate game for fans.
Played across several rounds, known as chapters, players will have to build a Realm Deck with one player being selected as the Hand of the King who begins each chapter. Each round consists of plotting, alliance-making and power plays across the big Houses in Westeros, and it will be up to you to come out on top.
The official description for *Game of Thrones: Masters of Intrigue *reads as follows:
“In Masters of Intrigue, players take on the roles of schemers and strategists from across Westeros, using bluffing, alliances, and betrayal to rise above their rivals. In each round of this trick-taking game, you’ll play cards representing the great Houses, choosing when to support the current power—or when to backstab and seize control for yourself.
Every decision counts: who you align with, when you betray, and how well you read your opponents. Hidden agendas, shifting allegiances, and clever timing are the keys to victory. With iconic Houses like Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, and more in play, each game captures the ruthless politics of Westeros in under an hour. Quick to learn but rich in strategy, Masters of Intrigue is perfect for fans who crave sharp turns, bold plays, and unforgettable betrayals.”
Coming in at $24.95, *Game of Thrones: Masters of Intrigue *is for ages 11+ and is played best with 3-5 players. With each game taking up to 25 minutes, it is the perfect card game to play when you have friends around, especially if you all think that winning the game of thrones is a lot easier than our favorite characters made it out to be.
*Game of Thrones: Masters of Intrigue *is available to purchase now.
