Team Charlie won Netflix’s first season of Outlast, but what happened to them once they walked away with the one million dollar cash prize? Thanks to its extreme gameplay, the exciting survivalist show was praised by Netflix viewers upon its release in March of 2023. With 16 contestants, it was anyone’s game to lose. The Outlast game was simple as they dropped 16 semi-outdoors-like people into the wilderness of Alaska. As survivalists, the contestants of *Outlast *needed to make it through the end of the game in order to win, but the challenges of the wilderness were tough competitors.

The show revealed there was only one rule; to win, you had to be a part of one of the four team-Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, or Delta. The task was jarring since most of the competitors were lone wolves who preferred solitary ventures to company. As the days passed, the game took a turn when Team Alpha decided to play dirty and steal Team Delta’s sleeping bags. Outlast highlighted what lengths some players would go to try and win. While others played an honorable game, there could only be one winner to take home the million dollar prize from Netflix’s Outlast.

Early on during the eight-episode series, Team Charlie — which consisted of Seth Lueker, Paul Preece, and Nick Radne — was a strong team. The men worked together and used their strengths to propel them forward within the game. Team Charlie made it clear that they wanted to play an honest game, and even though they aligned themselves with Team Alpha, they never backstabbed the other team. After spending cold nights and long days out in Alaska, the team were able to make one final push as Seth, Paul, and Nick were able to bring home the* Outlast* grand prize.

Marine and outdoorsman, Seth entered the competition with extensive survivalist experience. Before being stationed in beautiful Hawaii, where he learned combat and land navigation, Seth grew up on a farm in Virginia. Here, he was taught to hunt game, and fish. Seth entered the competition confident in his abilities. When asked by Netflix what qualities would help him survive, Seth offered, among several tangible talents, “I’m too dumb to die.

Almost immediately after winning his share of the money, Seth humorously revealed to Netflix Tudum he first divulged in a victory ham sandwich. Seth remains living with his family in Winchester, Virginia, and recently took part in a hike on the Appalachian Trail. Seth also told Screen Rant he had paid his debt off and would be looking to start a family soon. He has spent his time since *Outlast *building a life with his girlfriend, Elissa, and has spent a lot of time in the outdoors.

A father, bowhunter, and outdoorsman, Paul was well-equipped to enter the *Outlast *cast. Paul has been hunting since childhood, revealing to *Netflix *that he hunted out of necessity at a young age. Paul still hunts for wild game to feed his immediate family of four. His passions blend with his career as he teaches hunting skills to the youth. Going into the show, Paul commented that his tremulous youth, as he struggled to find shelter and fend for himself in Eastern Kentucky, provided him with all the experience needed to thrive in the Alaskan wilderness.

Paul shared that he and his fiancé purchased a home with his share. He was ecstatic for the opportunity to settle down with his family and provide the stability they sought. Additionally, as his fiancé completes her doctorate, the extra money helped to lessen the burden of financing a higher education.* Paul* regularly posts about his family on Instagram, sharing several photos of his daughter learning to use a bow and arrow, just like her father.

High-school teacher and wrestling coach, Nick Radner, encourages his students to work their absolute hardest and push the boundaries of what they are capable of. Following his advice, Nick signed up for Outlast, knowing his athleticism and physique would carry him through the competition. In his free time, Nick is an avid hiker, having scaled the Rocky Mountains, among other challenging terrain, before his stint on the show.

Nick revealed that he invested in a trucking and wood-flooring company. His long-term goal is to purchase a home for his family with the revenue accrued by his company involvement. Nick divulged that he pretends the winnings don’t exist and continues to live off his teacher’s salary.

Fans were mesmerized by the first season of Outlast, as they witnessed survivalists overcoming hazardous environments and surmounting innumerable challenges. The drama that ensued raised debates online and questions regarding the unbelievably resilient cast. Fortunately, thanks to the interview with Screen Rant, fans can rest assured that the winners of season 1 have invested the money on worthwhile ventures. Now, *Outlast *audiences are vying to watch more competitors take on the challenge.

Netflix debuted season 2 on the streaming service in September 2024. The second season boasted a fresh set of cast members and their dramatic antics. With the series’ popularity exploding, fans eagerly flock to Netflix to witness the latest race for the prize. The streaming service may need to tweak their show a bit and make sure there are some rules in place to provide safety, but if $1 million is up for grabs again, the odds are good the strong will survive. While ***Outlast ***season 3 was renewed in February 2025, the third season has yet to come out.
