June 4, 2026 Roger Palmer

After the success of musical specials featuring popular artists like Taylor Swift, U2, The Beatles, and Miley Cyrus, Disney has announced a brand new two-hour live concert film called “Paul Simon: The Quiet Celebration Concert,” is coming soon to Disney+ and Hulu.

Paul Simon brings his critically acclaimed and GRAMMY-nominated “Seven Psalms” to life in this first-ever live performance of the complete piece for his “Quiet Celebration,” an intimate evening spanning his vast career and celebrating new arrangements of timeless classics, deep cuts and new musical discoveries. A stunning and immersive experience, lush and joyful, the film sparks a triumphant tone, picking up with Paul after having come to terms with his hearing loss and journeyed to discover new ways to perform. Simon’s transformation of the movements for live performance gave way to all-new renditions of some of his most cherished songs and a deep desire to bring these contemplative and intricate pieces to audiences. “A Quiet Celebration” toured the U.S. in small venues, selected for their acoustic prowess and intimate setting, allowing audiences to engage with the music like never before.

The special was recorded live at McCaw Hall in Seattle, and Simon said in a statement regarding the special:

“This tour has enabled me to play with musicians again. I really missed it. Everybody has enjoyed the experience so much. There’s been a feeling of camaraderie and elation that we were playing this piece of music that we were really interested in, and that had a significant effect on me. It made for one of the most extraordinary tours I’ve done – maybe the most joyous.”

“Paul Simon: The Quiet Celebration Concert” is directed by Emmy Award-winning director Joel Gallen and engineered by acclaimed GRAMMY-winning and Emmy-nominated recording engineer Biff Dawes. The concert film was executive produced by Joel Gallen and Matt Kramer, edited by Bill DeRonde, with Cameron Barnett serving as Director of Photography. It is presented by Sony Music Vision in association with Legacy Recordings and A Green Juice Films production.

· A companion live album will be released on October 9th, 2026, and will be available for preorder beginning June 26th 2026, as a three-LP vinyl set, a two-CD set, and across all digital music stores and online music streaming partners.
