“Finding Mango: To Live And Die On Skid Row” Coming Soon To Hulu & Disney+
Disney has announced details on a brand new documentary called “Finding Mango: To Live and Die on Skid Row”, that looks into the harsh realities of living in the epicentre of Los Angeles’ homeless crisis, which is coming soon to Disney+ and Hulu.
In 2020, 66,000 people were experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County, 5,000 of whom were living on Skid Row. That’s when ABC News first met Mango, a charismatic, streetwise Floridian transplant living in a tent outside of Los Angeles Fire Station 9, while ABC News’ “Nightline” cameras were embedded with the station. Over the course of 6 years, ABC News cameras followed Mango. His passion for showing the world what it was really like for unhoused people to live on Skid Row was undeniable, and his presence was a stabilising force in a chaotic environment.
From helping neighbours and building community to assisting firefighters by managing traffic during emergencies, Mango became known on the streets as the unofficial mayor of Skid Row. Through his journey, the documentary uncovers the deep realities of living on Skid Row — its power dynamics, drug use, mental health struggles, death, and the urgent needs of one of L.A.’s most vulnerable communities.
“Finding Mango: To Live and Die on Skid Row” will premiere Friday, 5th June 2026, at 8 p.m. EDT on Disney+, Hulu and 24/7 streaming news channel ABC News Live.
ABC News Live is also available on The Roku Channel, YouTube, YouTube TV, Samsung TV Plus, Amazon, Pluto TV, TikTok, ABCNews.com, the ABC News and ABC News Live apps, and more.
