Dewayne Perkins Developing New Comedy Series For Hulu

June 3, 2026 Roger Palmer

Comedian and actor Dewayne Perkins is developing a brand-new untitled comedy series for Hulu that follows a group of friends in their 30s who decide to date by jury, meaning all of their relationship choices are determined by a group vote. The show is led by the “chaotically gay Denny” and just trying his best straight Nelson

This new untitled project follows the “chaotically gay Denny” and his best friend, straight Nelson, as they attempt to not only help each other find their next potential loves but also help each other re-find their confidence, streamline their joy and define the next chapter of their lives.

Dewayne is set to star in the series and to write and executive produce it. He has previously worked on Apple TV’s “The Studio”, along with “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “The Blackening”.

According to Variety, also set to executive produce are Stephen Curry, Erick Peyton and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett via Unanimous Media.

Unfortunately, no other details about this project have been revealed, such as who will star in it or when it will be filmed or eventually released on Hulu/Disney+.

As with any project in development, things can still change, either with the plot or with the creative team. Hulu will also still need to greenlight the project, so it might not necessarily hit our screens.
