It took a little bit of time following his takeover back in 2022, but James Gunn’s DCU is finally beginning to take shape after a few new projects hit the big and small screen last year. The first official DCU project was Creature Commandos, the animated series that debuted at the end of 2024 on HBO Max. Looking back now, though, it’s easy to see that Creature Commandos was more of an appetizer for what was to come in the DCU — Superman was the main course, and Peacemaker Season 2 was the desert; needless to say DC fans were left stuffed at the end of 2025. 2026 has been an ominously quiet year for DC so far, but that’s all about to change soon when Supergirl (starring Milly Alcock) helps officially kick off the blockbuster season.

Supergirl will fly into theaters around the world on June 26, and we at Collider are thrilled to partner with DC to exclusively preview a** new 4DX poster for the film**, which can be found below. The poster shows Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El smashing into action surrounded by all the bright colors fans can expect to see pop out of the screen when it hits theaters in just a few weeks. Clark Kent actor David Corenswet is also confirmed to have a small role in Supergirl, and he’s currently hard at work filming the Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow, which co-stars Nicholas Hoult. Additional members of the Supergirl cast consist of Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruth Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, and even Jason Momoa as Lobo.

Your answers point to the iconic sci-fi hero who shares your instincts, your values, and your particular way of facing the impossible.

You carry a weight most people would crumble under — the knowledge of what you’re capable of, and the burden of what you might have to become.

You lead with instinct, warmth, and an absolute refusal to accept a no-win scenario — because you’ve always believed there’s a third option nobody else has thought of yet.

You are the kind of person who holds the line when everyone else is losing faith — not because you’re fearless, but because giving up simply isn’t something you’re capable of.

You are not reckless, not grandiose, and not particularly interested in being anyone’s hero — you just refuse to stop when it matters.

You have been through fire that would break most people — and what came out the other side is something the world underestimates at its peril.

The official synopsis for Supergirl, which was written by Ana Nogueira and directed by Craig Gillespie, reads as follows:

“When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.”

Supergirl will be Craig Gillespie’s first feature film since 2023, when he teamed up with Seth Rogen and Paul Dano for the drama/comedy, Dumb Money, which is currently streaming on Hulu. Gillespie is best known for his work directing I, Tonya, the 2017 ice skating drama that netted Margot Robbie her first Academy Award nomination.

Stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Supergirl, which flies into theaters later this month on June 26.
