After making her DCU debut in 2025’s Superman, DC Studios has now shared a new Supergirl trailer, giving a bigger look at the upcoming summer blockbuster from director Craig Gillespie. Check it out below:
The latest trailer gives a larger taste of the Supergirl movie and the bigger story for Kara, as the Girl of Steel and Ruthye Marye Knoll, played by Eve Ridley, become surprising allies against a common enemy. The June release will also mark Lobo’s cinematic debut, with Aquaman star Jason Momoa taking on the iconic DC bounty hunter.
The sci-fi installment was written by Ana Nogueira, based on Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s *Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow *comic. Matthias Schoenaerts will bring the villainous Krem of the Yellow Hills to life from the 8-issue series.
Supergirl will be tackling a big DCU plot from Superman, which is the twist about Krypton, after Jor-El and Lara’s true intentions in sending Kal-El to Earth were revealed. According to David Krumholtz, who portrays Kara’s father, Zor-El, in a November 2025 interview, the new film will give more clarity: “I’ll just say that I’m thrilled to be the next piece of telling the story of Krypton and further clarifying what the House of El is all about.”
David Corenswet is also part of the Supergirl cast, as it was confirmed in 2025 that he will return as Superman in Kara’s solo film. During the teaser trailer launch at CCXP 2025, with ScreenRant’s own Jordan Williams in attendance during the teaser trailer launch, Alcock and Gillespie teased that the two DC cousins will have at least one scene that is entirely in Kryptonian.
Supergirl debuts in theaters on June 26.
