A cinematic obsessive with the filmic palate of a starving raccoon, Rob London will watch pretty much anything once. With a mind like a steel trap, he’s an endless fount of movie and TV trivia, borne from a misspent youth of watching monster movies on TV, perusing the sun-faded goods at the local video rental shop, and staining his fingers with ink from the Video Movie Guide. Areas of interest include science fiction, film noir, horror flicks, ’70s disaster pictures, Bond movies, ’90s action, giant robots, dinosaurs, super heroes, and the exuberantly schlocky output of Cannon Films. He also enjoys both Star Trek and Star Wars when they’re good, and maybe even more when they’re bad. As a Canadian, he also has a vested interest in Canadian movies and TV shows, especially the cheesier ones dubbed “Canuxploitation.”
An expert on Marvel Comics, he has also written for the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, and is a member of the Marvel Research Team. He can frequently be found pontificating on comic-book continuity or bemoaning the misfortunes of the Toronto Maple Leafs on his Twitter account.

Actor Thomas Jane first gained the attention of comic book fans when he played Frank Castle in 2004’s The Punisher. Now, he’s an award-nominated comics creator. Collider is proud to exclusively announce that Jane’s new horror comic, The Lycan, is coming to print for the very first time; we also have a sneak peek of the first issue’s cover.
The series is the brainchild of Jane and movie producer David James Kelly (Robin Hood). It’s scripted by Mike Carey (Lucifer), with art by newcomer Diego Yapur; it features colors by D.C. Alonso (Heavy Metal), letters by AndWorld Design (Something Is Killing the Children), and covers by Tim Bradstreet (The Punisher) and Liam Sharp (Judge Dredd). The series is a digital original and was published by Ablaze as a Comixology Original digital comic. It has just been nominated for “Best Digital Comic” at the Eisner Awards, the most prestigious awards in comic books; the winners will be announced at a ceremony at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Now, readers will have a chance to get their hands on a copy for the first time.
The Lycan #1 will be released in stores in September, with #2 and 3 following in October and November, respectively. A trade paperback collecting all three issues, plus never-before-seen bonus material, will be released in February 2027. Says Jane, “My dream has always been to sit in a mom-and-pop comic shop and sign copies of The Lycan. Now Ablaze is making that dream come true. What a long, strange trip it’s been! I couldn’t be happier, and I can’t wait for readers to get their hands on the book.”
Your instincts, your strengths, and your particular way of thinking under pressure point to one villain you actually have a fighting chance against. Everyone else — good luck.
Jason is relentless, but he is also predictable — and that is the gap you would exploit.
Michael watches before he moves. He is patient, methodical, and almost impossible to detect — until it’s too late for anyone who isn’t paying close enough attention.
Freddy wins by getting inside your head — using your own fears, your own memories, your own subconscious as weapons against you. That strategy requires a target who can be destabilised.
Pennywise is ancient, shapeshifting, and feeds on terror — but it has one critical vulnerability: it cannot function against someone who genuinely stops being afraid of it.
Chucky’s greatest advantage is that nobody takes him seriously until it’s already too late. He exploits the gap between how something looks and what it actually is.
The series opens in 1777, as a battle-hardened team of big game hunters sets sail from Africa to return to Europe. Along the way, however, they’re shipwrecked on a small island off the coast of England. Lord Ludgate rules the island, and he has a deal for the hunters; he’ll give them the supplies they need to repair their ship if they ply their trade on the island and hunt down the Berserking Beasts that are preying upon his subjects. However, the hunters soon discover that the creatures they’re hunting are no mere beasts, and that they have now become the prey…
Jane recently starred in the actioner Play Dirty, the thriller Miami Nights, and the Western Frontier Crucible. He can next be seen playing franchise icon Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
The Lycan #1 will be released in stores in September; #2 and 3 will follow in October and November, respectively. A trade paperback collecting all three issues will be released in February 2027. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.
