But that’s not just for cosmetic reasons, because it was tied directly to Brainiac’s technology.
The second season was one of the show’s darkest stretches for Clark and Kara. Brainiac brainwashed Kara and tried to take control of Superman, turning them both into weapons, and after Clark broke free, his upgraded suit was a blend of Kryptonian strength and… Brainiac tech. It was a major power boost, but tied to something Clark definitely didn’t want to cling to.
