“Star Wars: Ahsoka” Season 2 Disney+ Release Window Revealed

May 12, 2026 Roger Palmer

It’s been over two years since Disney announced that a second season of “Star Wars: Ahsoka” was in development for Disney+ and today, during Disney’s UpFront presentation to advertisers in New York, Rosario Dawson took to the stage to confirm that the new series will be coming to Disney+ in early 2027.

The first season was released on Disney+ back in the summer of 2023 and is set after the fall of the Empire. “Star Wars: Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

“Ahsoka” stars Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson, Ivanna Sakhno, Diana Lee Inosanto, David Tennant, Lars Mikkelsen and Eman Esfandi. The first season was directed by Dave Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel and Rick Famuyiwa. Dave Filoni is the head writer and executive producer along with Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist serves as co-executive producer.

In the second season, due to the passing of Ray Stevenson, he will be replaced by Rory McCann. Hayden Christensen is also coming back as Anakin Skywalker,

During the presentation, Rosario Dawson said, “This season, the battles are bigger, and the stakes are higher”. A sneak peek video was also shown to those in attendance in New York.

Earlier this year, Disney+ had the second season of “Ahsoka” listed as coming soon, but that was quickly taken off as assumptions that it was coming in 2026 were easy to make, so the move into 2027 does make some sense. But a three-year break between seasons isn’t ideal, but with live-action Star Wars shows generally being phased out, as the franchise returns to theatrical film releases, we’ve got a little wait for the new season.

As with any Disney+ release window, things can change, and early 2027 is pretty vague, so anytime between January and May technically could slide into that window.
