We all hate it when we’re in a nice small town and then, ugh, federal law enforcement shows up and starts asking us all questions nobody really wants to know the answers to, right? And that’s especially true when the person trying to keep the peace is already balancing family stuff, the concerns of the community and a job that’s doing its best to make everything personal. And this week’s episode of Sheriff Country looks like it’s gonna push all of that to the surface, with a major investigation landing in Edgewater and forcing some very uncomfortable choices. So, naturally, nobody is getting a calm Friday night.

Collider is excited to exclusively debut a new clip from Sheriff Country Episode 18, “The Gambler,” which airs Friday, May 8, from 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT on CBS. The episode will also stream on Paramount+, live and on demand for Paramount+ Premium subscribers, and on demand the next day for Paramount+ Essential subscribers. The new clip focuses on Wes and Gina, teasing the kind of tension that comes when a federal crackdown starts making its way through Edgewater. The official episode description reads:
