The last two years have been some of the best in the career of Kaitlin Olson. The comedy legend has not only continued to bring laughs to audiences around the globe with her beloved long-running dark sitcom, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but has also extended her run on HBO’s award-winning series Hacks. And then there’s her first foray into procedural dramas with the uber-popular ABC title, High Potential, which sees her star as a woman with a larger-than-life IQ who uses her brains to help the LAPD solve their most unsolvable crimes.

Season 2 of High Potential recently came to an end, but there’s still plenty more where that came from, as the network has already confirmed that the project will return for Season 3 during the fall slate. Meanwhile, Olson is slated to reprise her role as DJ, the daughter of Jean Smart’s Deborah Vance, in the fifth and final season of Hacks, which has already kicked off on HBO. But, over the weekend, it was Olson’s other fan-favorite production that was bustling with news after the It’s Always Sunny star shared a heartfelt message about filming coming to an end on the comedy’s record-breaking eighteenth season.

Taking to social media to share the exciting news with her followers, Olson dropped a group shot of the hardworking cast and crew behind It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Despite never having won a well-deserved Emmy, the folks in the image have plenty to celebrate as the 18th season continues to help the darkly comedic show hold onto the record of the longest-running live-action sitcom in history. Standing next to her by the iconic bar of Paddy’s Pub and flashing huge smiles are Olson’s longtime cast mates Danny DeVito, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, and her real-life husband and frequent collaborator, Rob Mac.

Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.

You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.

The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.

You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.

Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.

The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Last year, we were treated to some truly iconic episodes like “Frank Is in a Coma,” which took a swing at the never-ending question — Is it cake? We also saw Frank (DeVito) search for love on the Golden Bachelor and the gang pitch in with their community in an Abbott Elementary crossover. While we may not have too much foresight when it comes to what the gang will get up to in Season 18, we know that Guillermo del Toro will reprise his role as Pappy McPoyle, so a McPoyle-heavy storyline in at least one episode is a given.

As of right now, Season 18 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia hasn’t announced a release date, but stay tuned to Collider for more information. Check out Olson’s Instagram post above.
