Daisy Ridley has featured in some high-profile movies in her 10-year career. Here’s every project she’s been involved in, ranked worst to best.

Released in theaters this past January, We Bury the Dead is finally coming to streaming. Written and directed by Zak Hilditch (These Final Hours, 1922), the 2024 film stars Daisy Ridley as a woman desperately searching for her missing husband after a catastrophic military disaster, but finds a horror far worse than she imagined, a world overrun by the undead.

Now, nearly four months after its theatrical release, We Bury the Dead is finally releasing on Hulu on May 8. It has been available to rent or buy on digital platforms since February 3. It will also be released on 4K UHD and Blu-ray on July 8.

In addition to Daisy Ridley in the lead role, the cast also includes Mark Coles Smith, Brenton Thwaites, Kym Jackson, Matt Whelan, Deanna Cooney, Salme Geransar, Holly Hargreaves, Megan Hollier, Matthew Parkin, Amanda Faye Chandler, Charles Walmsley, Deborah Kerr-Doorn, Jimmy Duncan, and John Monk.

We Bury the Dead received positive reviews, resulting in a solid 87% Rotten Tomatoes score, with critics claiming that the film reworks classic zombie tropes into a visually striking and emotionally affecting reflection on loss and grief, led by a compelling turn from Daisy Ridley and built on a darkly inventive concept.

However, We Bury the Dead divided audiences, indicated by its 46% Rotten Tomatoes score from that group, who criticized it for being slow and uneventful, lacking the suspense and scares typically expected from horror, with others contending that it doesn’t quite fit the traditional definition of a zombie movie.

The film premiered at South by Southwest in March 2025 and was released in limited theaters in North America on January 2, quietly making $4 million at the box office. However, We Bury the Dead did make $3 million during its opening weekend alone across only 1,117 screens, marking the biggest opening weekend ever for its independent distributor, Vertical Entertainment.
