For a while now, Avengers: Doomsday has felt like one of those Marvel movies people have been talking about more in theory than in actual concrete terms. The title alone has done a lot of the heavy lifting, mostly because it promises something huge, ominous, and probably pretty chaotic for the MCU. But until now, audiences haven’t had much to go on beyond some very brief teasers, increasing that air of intrigue that naturally comes with any new Avengers movie. That changed in a big way at CinemaCon, where Marvel finally pulled the curtain back and gave attendees their first proper look at the film.

The new teaser was not released publicly online, but Collider’s Britta DeVore was in attendance to see the new footage in all its glory. From outside his window, Professor X (Patrick Stewart) watches a flash of light that carries Dr. Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) to his world. Meanwhile, back at the Avengers’ home base, the team circles up with Fantastic Four entering the building. We see sneak peeks of Channing Tatum’s Gambit and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) sinking Mjolnir into Dr. Doom’s chest. But the CinemaCon audience got the loudest for the return of Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), who picks up Mjolnir to prove to his old friend that he’s really, truly back. Other moments included in the footage include a reunion between Charles Xavier and Magneto (Ian McKellen) and a surprising fight between Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) and Gambit.

The film is being directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, who previously helmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. The screenplay is by Stephen McFeely, reuniting the Russos with one of their key Marvel collaborators, while Kevin Feige remains on board as producer.

Based on your answers, the Marvel hero who matches your spirit, values, and instincts has been revealed.

You carry the weight of the world on shoulders that are younger than they should have to be — funny, loyal, and endlessly self-sacrificing.

You fight in the shadows between law and chaos, guided by a fierce moral compass that refuses to let the guilty walk free.

Brilliant, driven, and occasionally insufferable — but always the person who solves the unsolvable problem.

You’ve been through fire that would break most people — and it did change you, completely. What’s left is unyielding, relentless, and operating by a code forged in grief.

Powerful, proud, and on a lifelong journey to become worthy of the legend you carry.

You believe in something bigger than yourself — and you fight for it even when the world has moved on and nobody else will.
