There are a handful of games that exist that many would consider the greatest of all time. Games like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Mass Effect 2, Skyrim, The Witcher 3, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to name but a few. One game that features on top of a lot of gamers’ GOAT list is, of course, Red Dead Redemption 2. A sprawling, vibrant world with visuals and a storyline that’s hard to beat.

So it may come as a shock to many, that Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t getting the love or attention it deserves and that hasn’t gone unnoticed. With the early leaks from Viviados of a Red Dead Redemption physical version for PS5 ahead of an official announcement, it looks like John Marston’s story is getting some love on modern hardware. But where is Red Dead Redemption 2, I hear you ask?

Obviously, Red Dead Redemption is also a great title, but a lot of fans are wondering why the second in the series isn’t getting the same amount of love. Red Dead Redemption 2 is still a visual masterpiece even eight years after launch, but it’s still lacking that upscaled PS5 version we all crave. One fan over on Reddit commented:

Everything other than releasing a PS5 port of RDR2 🤣🤣

While another Redditor got tired of waiting and decided to take matters into their own hands. They said the following:

I’ve been waiting so long for that one, that I took matters into my own hands and just built myself a Steam Machine that can run RDR2 at 60 fps.

One thing is clear from commenters…the demand for* Red Dead Redemption 2* on PS5 is there. Gamers want to revisit Valentine as Arthur in glorious 60fps. With rumored further delays for GTA 6 leaked, a PS5 version of Red Dead Redemption 2 might just be the ticket to keep the masses from losing their minds while they wait.

I’m sure we’d all gladly welcome any new content or iteration of Red Dead Redemption 2, but that shouldn’t take focus away from the original. John Marston’s story deserves a retelling and owning a physical copy of Red Dead Redemption on PS5 is something worth celebrating. Whether you choose to play the mission ‘The Last Enemy That Shall Be Destroyed’ or not is entirely up to you. Either way, getting a copy of this amazing western saga on PS5 is brilliant.

Perhaps it’s the start of their PS5 rollout news too. Optimistically, we might get a PS5 version of Red Dead Redemption 2 sooner rather than later. Me personally, I’m good with playing my PS4 version of RDR2 on my PS5. It looks amazing, and the story still hits harder than a Wolverine announcement at PlayStation’s next State of Play (wishful thinking). If Rockstar Games are reading, then please get busy on the PS5 version for the fans who love you. “Take a gamble that love exists, and do a loving act.”
