***The Odyssey ***has teased even more of its massive journey.

A new trailer for Christopher Nolan’s fantasy epic has been revealed at CinemaCon, confirming new details about Odysseus’ journey home. The story of The Odyssey, pulled from the pages of the ancient Greek epic of the same name, follows Matt Damon as Odysseus as he travels home with his men following the end of the Trojan War.

Now, Universal has released a new trailer for *The Odyssey *at CinemaCon. The trailer focuses on Jon Bernthal’s Menelaus, the king of Sparda, telling Tom Holland’s Telemachus, Odysseus’ son, about the Trojan Horse. The footage then sees Odysseus leading his men in the massive horse, the decisive blow that landed them a victory in the Trojan War.

The footage teases an intense infiltration from the horse, with an army of men inside. By night, they exit and begin to fight, the footage teasing a major action sequence in store. A montage is shown of plenty of other stars that will be in the film, including Anne Hathaway and Robert Pattinson. Charlize Theron also appears, the footage confirming her role as Calypso.

Check out a full description of the footage below:

Debris in the sea. Matt Damon is there, injured. Then he appears on the beach, saying he doesn’t remember anything before Troy, doesn’t know if he has a wife or son. Tom Holland is then seen at a dinner table with Jon Bernthal, who asks him if he’s heard the story of the horse. A horse statue is then seen in water. Matt Damon is inside. Cut to hundreds of people dragging the horse across the sand and rocks. People cheer. Damon listens and watches the ceiling of the inside. A man stands on top and starts stabbing with his sword to see if anyone is in there, hitting someone on the inside in the eye. But they don’t notice that people are in there. The crowd seems agitated. Cut to nighttime and the statue is inside the grounds of the kingdom and displayed. Damon escapes along with his soldiers and begins roaming through the streets. The soldiers begin to take down guards using arrows and swords, but stealthily. The other guards then notice and sound an alarm. Damon and his crew take down the guards in their immediate area then watch as one of their own falls. They are shown turning the large entrance door to the city open it. The guards are trying to stop them. They open it and hundreds of men pour in screaming and armed with shields and swords. One man stands at the back, with shinier armor than the rest. A quick montage is then shown, highlighting Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, and the rest of the ensemble.

Alongside new footage of the movie, Nolan himself appeared at CinemaCon to talk about the movie. He stated he wanted to adapt the epic poem written by Homer because of the “three thousand years” of history surrounding it. He said that, “It’s not a story, it’s the story,” emphasizing just how important *The Odyssey *is to him.

Additionally, he discussed the cast of The Odyssey, explaining how the actors chosen to bring the epic to life were done so with specification. He also explained the importance of the film’s family themes, specifically Odysseus’ role as a husband and a father, both of which will be influential to his journey throughout the movie:

It’ll be quicker for me to tell you who isn’t in The Odyssey.

[It’s a] story about family, a father’s desperate journey to return home to save his wife who has been managing his kingdom in his absence.

Nolan also spoke about how filming *The Odyssey *was “an absolute nightmare but in all the right ways.” He said that “Matt Damon is [his] partner in all of this,” expressing how closely they worked following their previous collaboration when he was cast in Oppenheimer. The movie’s high production qualities are clear in the footage description, Nolan’s statements emphasizing the sentiment.
