2026 is shaping up to be a big year for Henry Cavill, and it’s going to start soon with the release of In The Grey. The new action movie co-stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Eiza González, and it hails from director Guy Ritchie. In The Grey wrapped filming over two years ago, but the film was left hanging in limbo for a while, until it was confirmed earlier this year that it would premiere in April. It was later pushed back to May 15, where it sits comfortably. Cavill will star in another big movie this year, Voltron, along with Sterling K. Brown. The live-action film is a remake of the popular 80s action show of the same name, and it was written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber.
However, the biggest project in development for Cavill right now is a Highlander reboot, which is being directed by Chad Stahelski (director of all four *John Wick *movies). Cavill co-stars alongside other tenured Hollywood veterans like Russell Crowe and Dave Bautista in the film, which has been in production for months now. After Cavill shared the first look images from the Highlander set earlier this year, Amazon MGM took the opportunity during its panel at CinemaCon to share the first official footage from the film. Highlander promises to boast all the signature *John Wick *action that fans of Stahelski’s films are accustomed to, but also with fantasy and sci-fi elements to back it up. All that, paired with the star power of Cavill, Crowe, and Bautista, leaves Highlander as one of the most anticipated movies of the next few years.
Straight from the set of Highlander, Henry Cavill delivered a message to the crowd at CinemaCon and introduced a first-look clip. In it, we saw Cavill kicking ass and taking names as the legendary Connor MacLeod. We also heard from director Chad Stahelski, who explained his connection to the film, having been a fan of it since childhood. Meanwhile, other cast members, like Dave Bautista and Marisa Abela filled in audiences on the brutal plot that sees numerous immortal warriors fight to the last man standing. Stahelski will definitely bring the iconic story to a modern day audience and put his own stamp on the classic story.
Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.
You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.
The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.
You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.
Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.
The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.
The original Highlander film starred Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, who Henry Cavill will play in the reboot. Crowe has been tapped to play Ramirez, who was originally portrayed by Sean Connery, and Crowe has also confirmed that he will bring the signature Spanish accent to the character. Clancy Brown also starred in the original Highlander as Kurgan, the same role Dave Bautista has been tasked with playing in the remake. Other cast members for Highlander, which is being written by Ryan J. Condal, include Djimon Hounsou, Jeremy Irons, Karen Gillan, and more.
