“The Rookie” Renewed For A Ninth Season
One of the most popular shows on ABC is “The Rookie”, and it’s been revealed today by Disney that the show will be returning for a ninth season, making it the third-longest-running ABC drama.
The show follows John Nolan, who was once the oldest rookie in the LAPD, now uses his life experience, determination and sense of humour to keep up with rookies 20+ years his junior. John and the team must navigate the intense, unpredictable nature of their jobs and personal challenges, while uplifting the next generation of first responders.
The announcement was made on social media and featured some of the stars of the show, including Nathan Fillion.
“The Rookie” stars Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, Mekia Cox as Nyla Harper, Alyssa Diaz as Angela Lopez, Richard T. Jones as Wade Grey, Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen, Eric Winter as Tim Bradford, Jenna Dewan as Bailey Nune, Shawn Ashmore as Wesley Evers, Lisseth Chavez as Celina Juarez and Deric Augustine as Miles Penn.
Alexi Hawley is the creator and executive producer. Mark Gordon, Nathan Fillion, Michelle Chapman, Bill Norcross, Brynn Malone, Moira Kirland, Bill Roe and Jon Steinberg are executive producers on the series. “The Rookie” is produced by Lionsgate Television in partnership with Disney’s 20th Television.
The current series is currently being released each week on ABC, Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States. Previous seasons are available on Hulu. Internationally, the show is distributed by Lionsgate, so new episodes are available on a variety of different platforms globally, though some older seasons have been licensed to Disney+ in some countries.
