Resident Evil Requiem* ***is missing one of Leon’s most iconic associates, but the game’s upcoming expansion might rectify the situation. With the latest entry’s focus on Leon and new protagonist Grace Ashcroft, fan-favorite femme fatale Ada Wong is sadly absent from the entire affair.
Plenty of the fanbase has started to convince itself that Ada will make a DLC appearance, though, pointing to details like — minor spoiler her — Leon’s mysterious wedding ring that appears before the end of the game. Now, a post from Ada Wong’s most recent voice actress seems to provide some potential support for that theory.
Reddit user AashyLarry shared an Instagram post from Ada Wong voice actress Lily Gao, which shows her hanging out with Leon S. Kennedy voice actor Nick Apostolides. In the image gallery, she also tags Capcom employees Hiro Masuda and Steve Kniebihly, who worked on the *Resident Evil 4 *remake and *Seperate Ways *DLC.
There’s no guarantee that any of this is associated with new *Resident Evil *content, but the timing is certainly suspicious. Adding fuel to the fire, No1PiggyOnTheBlock points out that Lily Gao deleted the original caption for the gallery, which read “Spring: Moon leon sourdough butter but always protect your eyes w/ blue light glasses!:)”. The inclusion of the word “leon,” along with the caption’s removal, fits nicely with the idea that something is actually being teased here.
For now, it’s all just speculation, and it’s equally possible that Gao removed the caption due to people running wild with inaccurate theories rather than concerns about an NDA. The best proof for now is leaker Dusk Golem’s assertion on X that Ada is “very likely” in the DLC. Dusk Golem is considered a generally reliable source in the *Resident Evil *community and confirmed Leon’s role in *Resident Evil 9 *well before Capcom officially revealed his inclusion.
There’s no telling when we’ll get to know more about the DLC, but one optimistic possibility would be that a rumored PlayStation State of Play showcase this month could provide an update. If *Resident Evil *does show up, though, I’d place a larger bet on a showcase of the promised mini-game mode — presumably another version of the long-running Mercenaries format — than a reveal of the narrative expansion.
Still, there’s always a chance that things could move along quickly. While Resident Evil 8’s narrative DLC took a while to arrive, *Resident Evil 7 *had a comparatively quick turnaround. If this Resident Evil Requiem expansion has been in development for longer than Capcom has yet revealed, it could be ready to release in the near future.
