Nintendo and The Pokémon Company can’t seem to keep their plans for the Pokémon franchise under wraps. The Gigaleak around 2020 and the more recent Teraleak from last year are two of the largest data breaches in gaming, and as competitive play is moved to Pokémon Champions, it would seem even a new live-service venture isn’t safe from having its plans of upcoming DLC spoiled.

Pokémon Champions just released for the Nintendo Switch (and Switch 2 via backward compatibility) on April 8, but its second battle pass has already leaked. Its contents were datamined and their in-game sprites were shared by Twitter user ChicoEevee. All 50 levels of battle pass rewards for the upcoming Season M-2 have been revealed, another combination of cosmetic items, Pokémon, consumables, and in-game currency.

Pokémon Champions’ second battle pass, for Season M-2, is very similar to the first. Levels one through 30 provide an array of rewards, while 31 through 50 give you bonus VP. Here are all 50 Season M-2 battle pass rewards in Pokémon Champions:

Most of the items with actual gameplay utility are front-loaded in the second Pokémon Champions battle pass, while fan-favorite Gengar and the cosmetic items for your trainer are closer to the end of the first 30 tiers. Three Pokémon are included – Skarmory, Kangaskhan, and Gengar – with their Mega Stones uniformly following two rewards later.

Pokémon Champions coming with post-launch content ready to go isn’t a surprise (it’s practically a necessity for live-service games), but it is quite irksome given the technical state of the game. Various bugs hamper an experience that doesn’t run very well in the first place, even on Switch 2, where Pokémon Champions struggles to maintain its 30 FPS target. Bugs will likely be ironed out, but it is frustrating to see new paid content lined up when the base game isn’t working as intended.

Technical issues don’t even get to the heart of Champions’ issues, like the disappointment of battles only being three-versus-three rather than the standard six-versus-six, or the limited number of Pokémon featured (never mind the fact that new ones need to be obtained via the battle pass). As the new destination for the Pokémon Championship Series’ VGC arm, Champions isn’t going away any time soon, but it’s a rocky start for Pokémon’s new competitive platform.
