Hulu No Longer Moving Forward On Kim Kardashian’s “Group Chat” Show

April 5, 2026 Roger Palmer

Last year, it was revealed that 20th Television was developing a pilot for a new comedy series called “Group Chat”, with Kim Kardashian working on the project as an executive producer and also a guest star.

The show is loosely inspired by Anthony’s bestseller “The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex, and Happiness”. “Group Chat” is a satirical comedy about six fly, successful women in their forties who have conquered LA and seemingly have it all. But behind their picture-perfect lives is a group chat that tells the real story — one that’s the heart line of their friendship and where the real drama unfolds. Because, in their world, the truth is even more wild, unfiltered, and juicier than anyone could ever imagine.

Unfortunately, it has been revealed that the project is not moving forward at Hulu and will no longer be created for Hulu or Disney+.

The pilot starred La La Anthony (“Power”), Yaya DaCosta (“Chicago Med”), Melanie Liburd (“This Is Us”), Rebecca Rittenhouse (“The Mindy Project”), and Stephanie Suganami (“The Flight Attendant”).

“Group Chat” was executive-produced by Kenya Barris and Adam Kassan, along with Kim Kardashian and La La Anthony. The show was co-produced by the comedy with BET Studios, with whom Kenya Barris has an overall deal.

Unfortunately, as with any pilot, it’s never guaranteed that the show will get the go-ahead, as there can often be some creative changes during the pilot period.
